Meet the proud members of the Heartland Finishes Team

Scott A. Bleich

Co-owner

With nearly 20 years in the industry, I enjoy serving as president of the Des Moines Construction Breakfast Club where I helped develop a scholarship program for the ACE Mentor Program for high school students going into construction. Our company also sponsors the Heartland Finishes, Inc. Annual Scholarship for Construction Engineering Students at Iowa State University.

I also serve on committees for Master Builders of Iowa and The American Society of Professional Estimators, and am an active volunteer in my church. My favorite pastime is being with my beautiful family: wife Angie, daughter Sophia, and son Logan. Outdoor activities are a favorite of mine including fishing, hunting (yes even for mushrooms), riding bikes with my family, and hiking with my dogs. You may also find me tinkering with my old car, playing basketball, investing in the stock market, or following politics. I'm also a huge Hawkeye fan.

What do I like best about Heartland Finishes? Our people! We have a great family atmosphere here. We try to keep our office a fun place to work and never take ourselves too seriously! We know that a happy team produces great work for our clients.

Kim Pullen

I love the people I work with at Heartland Finishes. With 27 years experience in the industry, I have been part of many projects. The Heartland Finishes team members are like family to me, and it gives me great satisfaction knowing that their families rely on us for their jobs. My actual family consists of my wife Mary, and our sons Brice, Andy, Jesse, Trevor, and Quincy. Can you guess which ones are the triplets? My favorite pastimes include golf, softball, pickup games with my sons, Iowa State athletics, and the Green Bay Packers. I graduated from ISU with a bachelor degree in Agricultural Business.

Scott Turczynski

Co-owner

Construction is a major theme in my life. From a B.S. in Construction Engineering at ISU to major home construction projects and helping to lead Heartland Finishes, I have immersed myself in it for years. Just ask my wife Anita and our three kids Luke, Max, and Ruth. Dad loves construction, as well as road biking and golf. As a matter of fact, I'd like to play more golf. I also love Iowa State athletics and bleed cardinal and gold. I'm an avid supporter of the Make-A-Wish foundation. People who know me will tell you I'm good at integrating fun and work. At Heartland Finishes, we have a very fun atmosphere in our office. We get down to business when we need to, yet always with a light-hearted mood. When you enjoy what you do and your office surroundings, it makes coming to work very enjoyable.

Rochelle Davis

Office Assistant

I have several years experience and can truly say I enjoy my bosses and coworkers at Heartland Finishes. We have a great work environment and there is never a dull moment. My job covers many responsibilities for the Heartland team and that keeps me happily busy. Our customers are always so pleasant to work with. I am married to Don Davis and we have a daughter Ashlee and two boys Tyler and Cody. Our family also includes a black lab/golden retriever mix named Cassie. I love to boat and water ski, a love of mine since the age of five. Other interests include reading, gardening, going on motorcycle rides, and watching football and baseball. I've also volunteered my time as a Girl Scout assistant, and I'm sure those skills have helped me keep the Heartland team in line!

Clint Edwards

Taper/Plaster Superintendent

In the four years I've been a member of the Heartland Finishes team, I have really enjoyed meeting and developing friendships with new people. I am a graduate of the apprentice training program. My wife Tracy and I have two beautiful daughters named Jenna and Madison, plus two cats to complete our happy family. With my love of softball, I enjoy coaching girls little league softball as well as soccer. Golf is also a favorite sport of mine.

Chuck Ehrlich

Project Manager

With 30 years of construction experience, my education and training include the U.S. Navy and Iowa State University, where I earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering. I really enjoy the family atmosphere at Heartland Finishes and working with the great people. I am a member of ASPE and the ISU Alumni Association. My wonderful family includes my wife Kim, and daughters Hannah, Molly, and Jennifer. Favorite pastimes of mine are hunting, fishing, reading, and just about all sports you can think of.

Steve Furman

Paint Superintendent

With 24 years experience, I guess you could say I know a thing or two about this industry. What I like best about Heartland Finishes are the people and the team atmosphere that surround me every day. I have two great kids named Alex and Allison who keep me very busy. I also have a wonderful significant other named Mary. When I'm not with my family or at work, you might find me motorcycling, gardening, or playing a good round of golf.

Annette C. Roose

Accounts Payable

The people I work with at Heartland Finishes are a fantastic group. There is never a dull moment here; something is always going on. I serve as a member of the National Association of Women in Construction, the Local Women's Group, and as a high school youth teacher at church. My family consists of my husband Vince, our two boys Noah and Nicholas, our dog Kirby, and cat Tiffy. I love watching my boys play sports and enjoy professional and college football, as well as reading, camping, boating, and getting together with friends for cards. I graduated from American Institute of Business.

Jill Sailer

Office Manager

With more than 16 years experience, I have served as a board member and treasurer for the National Association of Women in Construction. I graduated from the American Institute of Business with a degree in accounting and financial management. My amazing family consists of too many people to mention, but they are all very important to me. I love spending time with my family and friends, as well as golfing, reading, taking walks, and listening to my favorite music. My favorite aspect of working at Heartland Finishes is the family atmosphere.

William E. Young

Carpenter Superintendent

As I approach 30 years of experience, I am thankful for the family oriented atmosphere and professional surrounding here at Heartland Finishes. I began my career in the Carpenter Apprenticeship Training program plus partake in continuing education classes. My family consists of my wife Dione, our sons Forest, Tucker, and Garrett, as well as two dogs named Chelsea and Cash. I am a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoy fishing, hunting, Canadian Trophy Pike fishing, and I think you just can't beat the Mexican Riviera for a great vacation.
